Square Baby Partners with PHA to educate families and reduce allergy risk, for babies 4 – 12+ months old.
Square Baby, the direct-to-consumer baby food brand offering 100% daily nutrition for early eaters 4-12 months old, has teamed up with Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) to educate parents and families about the importance of balanced nutrition, palate development, and food allergy prevention. Joining PHA’s Shaping Early Palates initiative, Square Baby will join forces in the organization’s effort to disrupt the marketplace and create options to help parents raise adventurous eaters. Square Baby is recognized as a leader in the category of infant and science-based nutrition, and this collaboration will support PHA’s vision to cultivate healthy palates and create a lifelong desire for nutrient-rich foods — especially vegetables — among all children.
Square Baby is committed to establishing healthy eating patterns for crucial growth and palate development that can have an impact on a child’s health for a lifetime. Rooted in science, Square Baby applies the recent research behind introducing allergens early and often, to reduce the risk of developing today’s commonly found food allergies. Knowing that customization is key to today’s families, Square Baby offers tailored meal plans with vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten-free, meat & seafood, allergen introduction as well as allergen-free meals.
Recipes designed by the co-founder, a Registered Dietitian, are made in small batches using organic foods that are gently cooked, steamed, or roasted, blended by hand, and frozen to lock in nutrients and freshness. “Square Meals” are perfectly balanced with vegetables, fruits, whole or sprouted grains, and various proteins – meaning they contain half the amount of sugar and double the amount of protein and healthy fats most pouches have.
“With nutrition science at our core, we know the importance of high-quality, balanced nutrition and creating adventurous eaters through exposure to a wide variety of veggies, fruit, grains, proteins, healthy fats, herbs and spices,” says Katie Thomson MS, RD, co-founder and CEO of Square Baby. She continues, “We are thrilled and honored to join the PHA family and harness the power of our shared commitments to raising the next generation of healthy eaters.”
“Partnering with Square Baby is one more step forward in building a better food culture for babies and toddlers,” said Nancy E. Roman, President and CEO, Partnership for a Healthier America. “Nothing is more important than the health of our children – and it all starts with food and food habits developed early.”

About Partnership for A Healthier America
PHA’s mission is to leverage the power of the private sector to transform the food landscape in pursuit of health equity. In 2010, PHA was created in conjunction with Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! effort. PHA identifies, accelerates, and celebrates voluntary business practices that improve or increase choice or lead to new norms and behavior around food and physical activity. Most important, PHA ensures that commitments made are commitments kept by working with unbiased third parties to monitor and publicly report on the progress our partners are making.
